Yes! When my oldest daughter was a teenager I tried to read every book she read . . . until she began reading King. then I quit.

One of my favorite authors is Michael Shaara, and his son Jeff. Michael wrote Killer Angels about the generals who fought at Gettysburg. It won the Pulitzer in 1974.

Ron Rash is a local author (he taught at Tri County Tech) who writes novels about this area. One Foot in Eden mimics the land acquisition process for Lake Keowee before flooding.
